Orenco's AdvanTex Treatment System is a compact and efficient recirculating packed bed filter. Unlike sand, peat, or foam filters, the AdvanTex uses a non-woven, engineered textile material for the treatment media designed to treat wastewater (effluent) that meets precise regulatory requirements. This system is designed to pump effluent from the liquid side of your septic tank, and into the fiberglass filter. Effluent then percolates down through the textile media, where it is treated by naturally-occurring microorganisms that populate the filter. After passing through the filter media, the treated effluent flows out of the filter pod through the filtrate return line that returns the effluent to the recirculating valve. The valve automatically splits the flow (typically at a 4 or 5 to 1 ratio) between the septic tank and the dosing tank (or basin) for final dispersal to the leach field(s).
This system provides consistent, reliable treatment, even under peak flow conditions. The process reduces nitrogen significantly, and special configurations can reduce nitrogen even further to meet stringent limits. What's more, the clear, odorless effluent is ideal for reuse applications.
Because of its large surface area and greater water holding capacity, the AdvanTex textile media can handle much higher loading rates than sand or gravel media. Consequently, textile filters are very compact units. They require significantly less land area, and are easier to install than other packed bed filters, which means they can serve even those projects with severe space constraints.
